GRBIO - Research Group in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

The main goal of GRBIO is to promote joint research in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics in both applications and development of new methodologies. We address complex interdisciplinary issues and make relevant scientific contributions on health and biology areas where closer collaboration is needed to promote future development and welfare of the society.  Our members work side by side with researchers in the “BIO” field, including medical doctors, biologists and virologists and are exposed to scientific problems which need new ideas, new models and the integration of researchers from several fields.

Research  topics of GRBIO can be broadly grouped into three areas: Clinical Trials and Survival Analysis, Biostatistical Methods for integrative analysis of omics data and Development of statistical tools. We aim to respond to the issues raised in Biosciences and Health in an integrative and comprehensive manner, trying to exploit the synergies between members coming from these diverse research and expertise areas."

Expertise:  Survival Analysis,  Clinical Trials, Biostatistical Methods for Integrative Analysis of Omics Data, Development of statistical tools.
